Mary listened to

the sweet melody Rose sang

when she returned home.

Mary said, "Someone's happy."

Rose said, "I have an offer!"

Placing her brushes

on the table with her paint, 

she said to Mary,

"A woman in my art class

runs the fairground gallery."

Fixing Rose a plate

of herb-roasted potatoes,

Mary let Rose speak,

"She hired us to sell pieces

all throughout the fair season!"

Rose danced with pure joy

Mary said, "That sounds great...us?!"

They sat down for lunch

when Rose asked, "Will you help me?"

Mary sighed, "You know I will."
