Book of Mary IV

"Get away from him!"

Mary shouted in a dash

straight against the grain

of distressed pedestrians.

Soon, law enforcement followed.

The lone gunman turned

to aim at Mary's approach

when the drummer leaped,

tackled the man to the ground,

and wrestled the gun away.

In the confusion,

Mary kicked the assailant

as the drummer stood.

A projected command rang,

"Drop the gun and raise your hands!"

Mary screamed, "Don't shoot!

This drummer did nothing wrong.

He was being robbed!"

The police did not listen.

A piercing shot filled the air.
