Book of Epilogues I
Onward to the end,
light returns the travelers
to the final age.
A forested hemisphere
now with displaced visitors.

Parsley moved his hand
away from his eyes to see
the DeLorean
surrounded by hollow knights.
Sage said, “They pierced the engine!”
Ty shoved the car door,
opening it with such force
to send a knight back.
Pulling the sword from the trunk,
Ty sliced through their foe’s armor.
Joining in the fight,
Parsley cut through the steel horde
until none remained.
Mary saw the coast was clear,
opening the backseat door.
Sage checked the display,
unsure of their location.
Mary looked around
calling out through the forest,
“Don? Where are you?”
Parsley found water
dripping from the car’s engine.
He said, “We’re stuck here.”
Ty asked, “Yes, but where is here?”
Light glistened through the tree leaves.
But there was no sun
or moon in the chrome-white sky
encasing the realm.
Sage stepped away from the wheel,
to assess the car’s damage.
She spoke to Parsley,
“If we’re somewhere lost in time,
I do not know when.”
Mary said, “I don’t think we’re
in Scarborough anymore.”
