Book of Time I

There once was an elf
who sought the sword of status
and a woman's hand.
He became a skilled swordsman
to earn the hand of Elvie.

Elvie was a knight,
one of higher rank than him.
Ancient elves saw time
as energy they could bend
using symbols and mirrors.

Elvie was the first
chosen to be sent through time.
Just one elfin knight
opposed Elvie's new mission.

Still, she left for Scarborough.

The heartbroken knight,
desperate to follow Elvie,
planned to leap through time.
Researching the ageless scroll,
he learned Elvie's lineage.

Her ancestor's tribe
were the only survivors
of the Golden Walk.
When the elves found a new realm,
they called it the end of time.

They called it the end
because the unified tribes
who found the first door
did not survive their journey.
Only Elvie's tribe arrived.

The knight grew jealous,
forging many hollowed knights
that could pass through time.
His ignorance banished him
and his knights through the ages.

Leaving love behind,
the elfin knight made a vow
to slay Elvie's line.
Wandering from year to year
he found Scarborough at last.
