Book of Time VI

A stone struck the head
of the Elfin Knight before
he could land his blow.
The smooth, softball-sized stone struck
with enough force to drop him.

Falling with a thud,
Parsley reclaimed the broadsword.
Sheathing it away,
he ran to the aid of Ty
who lay bleeding on the grass.

"Please stay with me, Ty!"
Removing his leather belt,
he wrapped their shoulder
to stop the river of blood.
Mary and Rose brought first aid.

Rose noticed the elf,
"I thought the elves stayed behind
when we left their realm."
While Mary applied pressure
to Ty's wound, she said to Rose,

"Bring the car around,
the next moments are crucial.
We're saving Ty's life."
A humble amount of gauss
slowly absorbed scarlet hues.

Rose ran to the car,
reversing over dirt tracks
dug moments before.
Mary said, "Help me, Parsley."
Together, they carried Ty.

With the car door shut,
Rose left the cemetery
deep in the rearview.
Quiet tension fueled their trip
to the nearest hospital.

The Elfin Knight slept,
dreaming of the silhouette
plaguing his spirit.
Elvie the knight spoke the words,
"You are running out of time."
