Book of Don II

The preparations
for the twin's DeLorean
hit an obstacle
when the fuel supply ran low.
Mary said, "I'll pay for gas."

Parsley said to her,
"This car doesn't run on gas."
Sage popped the fuel tank
refilling it with water.
Delaney said, "Gas smells bad."

Mary studied Don
as he read Delaney's plan—
a detailed road trip
starting in a different time.
He stood, amazed and confused.

Mary eased his mind,
"We will find where you belong,
you can trust my friends."
Don whispered under his voice,
"Is Delaney like a witch?"

Mary laughed out loud,
"Don't give her any ideas,
she's adventurous!"
Reaching for his open hand,
Mary walked him through the yard.

She said, "Last summer,
I met them in Scarborough—
across the ocean.
There is something about those twins
that brings out the best in you."

Don glanced at the car.
Parsley and Sage quarreled
over who would drive.
He asked, "What are those gestures?"
Mary answered, "Ro-sham-bo."

William found them
as he trimmed the growing grass.
"Good trouble," he said,
"Wherever you are going,
try to stay in good trouble."
